Understanding Gum
Disease Symptoms
& Treatments
Periodontitis is a highly invasive gum disease that upsets your overall oral health. It is characterized by upsetting symptoms that affect the gums, teeth, and underlying jawbone as well. Failing to get gum disease treated at its earlier stages can make the condition very severe, making it difficult to treat in its more advanced stages.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF GUM DISEASE?
How Do We Treat Gum Disease at Spa Dentistry?
When you visit us for the initial consultation, we will conduct a thorough diagnosis to understand the severity of the gum disease. We will determine the cause behind it and suggest the most suitable means to treat it. We will start by removing the plaque and tartar using ultrasonic scaling. The removed microbial debris will be washed away by a jet of water.
Next, we will extract the decayed gum tissues using laser therapy. This process is far more convenient and painless and can be completed in a shorter time. It doesn't cause bleeding as the wound underneath would be sealed off by the laser instantaneously. We use a highly potent medication to treat the infection and arrest its spread. The most prominent one is Arestin. The medication can either be in the form of consumable pills or surface applications placed in the deep gum pockets.
